Feeling The Post Election Burnout; Call Upon The Caregiver

Feeling The Post Election Burnout; Call Upon The Caregiver

The Caregiver is an archetypal pattern that brings the energy to nurture.

The Caregiver is an archetypal pattern that brings the energy to nurture.

Coming out of the election, many of us Americans are feeling the fatigue and burn out of running the Hero archetype.

No matter your political leaning, this fiercely loyal, self-sacrificing, get-er-done energy has left us all beat up and bruised.

It feels like the ultimate drive for results hangover.

With that in mind, I want to offer a tool Archetypeologists use to help individuals and groups self adjust their attitudes and shift their energy.

It’s called paired opposites.

The paired opposite of the Hero is the Caregiver.

Where the energy of the Hero is to defend. The energy of the Caregiver is to nurture.

The Caregiver reminds us that getting results is completely dependent on how we replenish and tend to our needs in the aftermath of our campaigns.

This is true in athletics, business, and it’s also true of society.

Often we admire and honor the Hero. Today I offer we admire and honor the Caregiver.

The Caregiver in you, us, and society.

How can we allow this? Below are a few ideas I came up with. Share some of your ideas in the comments.

1. Take a nap in the middle of the day.
2. Book an AirBNB for a holiday and purchase ready-made meals from local biz.
3. Send a care package to the healthcare worker in your family.
